Today, another important milestone was reached. The final printing of 2 products that I contributed with their content was finally accomplished. This brings me a great satisfaction because these products represent an original idea I had back on December 2009.

Besides its utility and nice layout, “A Simple Act” also fulfill a personal goal which is trying to make a contribution to the community and society by providing something that inspire them and others in their daily life. The calendar and the agenda, contains inspiring actions to cheer your day or the day of others.

A Simple Act is a product developed and designed by my wife in cooperation with Toronto Star and it will be sold in Chapters-Indigo across Canada very soon. I hope you like it or buy one as a gift for someone special.

Finally saving the best part to the end; one of the illustration happens to be designed by my older son Gabriel (7 at the time of drawing) which made him and us so proud of his talent. I belief he will follow the steps of his talented mom very soon.

Last Saturday my wife had a problem starting the car after finishing some shoping in a local store. She called me to see if there was something to do but unfortunately, after checking that the battery was in good condition and no fuse had blown out, we did not have any clue at all. She called a town truck company and in less than 10 minutes they were there. We asked them to town the car to the closest mechanic from a big store but they suggested a local mechanic close in the area.
After arriving to this small place, the mechanic offered to have a look at the car and see what he could do. Very fast he started to run a series of tests with the help of one of his assistants and very fast pinpointed the problem. The mechanic start hitting with a 3 foot bar something inside under the hood which made the car to start.
I thank him courteusly and ask how much did I owned him. He kindly replied: nothing, I did not do anything special. He explained me that the starter was the problem and although the problem was solved temporarily, it could happen again if the part was not replaced.
He told me that he was busy that day and had to order the part in case I decided to leave the car or in any case I could take it whenever I wanted.
When I went to pay the guys from the town truck, they unexpectedly raised their fee and did not even gave me a receipt arguing that everything was on cash. Obviously, they took advantage of the situation since the service was already done, but on the other hand the mechanic could easily had taken advantage from the situation as well; however, his action was the opposite by being sincere and kind.
